This optional add-on helps cover the payment processing fees our nonprofit pays for each transaction. It isn’t required, but it’s always appreciated.
Every $1 purchase costs us an average of $0.31–$0.36 in processing fees, depending on the payment method used (Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, AmEx, ACH, etc.). Small-dollar transactions get hit the hardest because of the flat $0.30 charge added by processors.
Choosing this optional support item helps us keep our raffle chances affordable at $1.00 while still covering the unavoidable transaction costs.
